Our Hungry Planet: Agriculture, People and Food Security – free online course

Future Learn are offering a free on line course called Our Hungry Planet which considers how the food we grow, buy, eat and throw away relates to the global issue of food security. The course is free and starts on May 8th. The course is aimed at anyone with an interest in food, food security and food waste; farming and agriculture; or sustainability and you don’t need any previous experience or qualifications to join it. It should take about 3 hours a week for 6 weeks.

If you do join up for the course do please let us know how you get on and what you think of it.

What’s the recipe today Jim?

Anyone remember that phrase? And how apt it is for TRJFP Cafes. We can’t plan the menus a week in advance as we can’t guarantee what food will be available. It takes a bit of skill to be able to create an amazing menu under these circumstances but Adam seems to do an amazing job over at Armley and our chefs are trying to emulate his skills.

So, watch out on our website and on Facebook tomorrow morning to find out what is being rustled up, and come and join us any time between 10am and 4pm.

And if you fancy a challenge as a chef why not have a word with Emma, we can never have too many chefs – can we?
