Tuesday 19th January in the cafe…

We were blessed with an abundance of volunteers today, several of whom love cooking. They created a very tasty menu out of the ingredients that we had, including some slightly unusual dishes. Here’s what our 40 customers ate in the cafe or took home for later:

  • 8 portions of carrot and butternut soup
  • 10 portions of mushroom soup
  • 10 portions of deep fried Camembert with truffle
  • 15 portions of turkey tikka and rice
  • 13 portions of cauliflower and potato curry with dahl
  • 5 portions of goats cheese and beetroot pasta with tomato sauce
  • 10 portions of vegetarian frittata
  • 13 portions of egg custard with biscuit base
  • 13 portions of Greek yoghurt, mango and fig
  • 10 portions of chocolate muffin

The food donations we received included minced beef, mince pies and an assortment of beans. £79.07 was given in monetary donations and a number of people worked hard in the kitchen preparing food, washing up and clearing up.
