Today was a little quieter than usual in terms of the number of customers, but still full of activity!
Two wonderful ladies have been decorating the church and cafe today, in preparation for Christmas Day. Lots of people gave them a hand including a number of children. It is already looking wonderful and they are coming back tomorrow to do more!
Karen and her family joined us as well. They helped prepare some of the food, made some wonderful paper chains, took orders, served food and helped to decorate the church. Thank you so much for all of your help!
Our fabulous kitchen team cooked up a tasty menu, as always, which was much appreciated by the 30 customers. Here’s what they ate in the cafe or took home for later:
- 18 portions of winter vegetable soup
- 11 portions of sausage and bean hotpot
- 15 portions of cauliflower cheese
- 6 portions of toad in the hole
- 1 portion of bean salad
- 6 portions of mixed cake bake
- 8 portions of rhubarb pie
- 2 portions of melon
£68.71 was given in monetary donations and various people helped out with the washing up and clearing away. We received lots of food donations including a mountain of bread, heaps of clementines, and a range of other fruit and vegetables.
Thank you very much to everyone who supported the cafe today! You have helped us to #feed bellies not bins.
We are opening on Christmas Day, but it is by ticket only and we are already fully booked.
However, we are open as usual on Tuesday 29th December, 10am – 4pm.
TRJFP @ All Hallows’ Cafe would like to wish you a happy and peaceful Christmas.
