Tuesday 10th November in the cafe…

We had great fun in the cafe today juicing apples! Leeds Urban Harvest helped us squeeze about 6 crates of apples. In comparison to what they normally do, this was a small amount. Nonetheless they have agreed to come back next Tuesday and juice some more. 😊 So, please bring along any apples that you can find in the meantime.

There was a brilliant team of volunteers today who cooked up some delicious dishes! Plus, our 36 customers enjoyed freshly squeezed apple juice as they ate their meals. Here’s what was eaten in the cafe or taken home for later:

  • 25 portions of parsnip and apple soup
  • 15 portions of squash and kale bake
  • 21 portions of vegetarian moussaka
  • 4 omelettes
  • 23 portions of Eve’s pudding
  • 4 portions of fruit salad
  • 14 strawberry smoothies
  • 6 chocolate chip muffins
  • 2 blueberry cakes

£69.16 was given in monetary donations and various people helped out in the kitchen. Lots of onions and apples were also donated.

A big thank you to everyone who supported the cafe today! With your help we have been #feeding bellies not bins.
