Tuesday 13th October in the cafe…

We had an amazing team in the kitchen today, who cooked up some real treats! Who would have guessed that cottage cheese could be used to make a New York style cheesecake and a cheese and broccoli quiche? Both of which were absolutely delicious – according to the customers…

Here’s what our 35 customers ate in the cafe or took home for later:

  • 26 portions of spicy courgette soup
  • 11 portions of cheese and broccoli quiche
  • 13 portions of chicken curry
  • 5 portions of nut roast
  • 11 portions of apple crumble
  •  10 portions of vanilla cheesecake (New York style)
  • 1 portion of bread and butter pudding

£50.25 was given in monetary donations and several people helped with the menu, clearing up, and washing up. Some lovely food donations were given from Adel Church, someone’s allotment and another person’s garden. Plus, we recieved a few tonnes of lentils and figs!

A Green Party Actavist joined us for lunch, along with individuals connected with various local services.  It is wonderful to see the cafe being used as a place to network, as well as a place to enjoy tasty food!

Thank you very much to everyone who supported us today!

We look forward to seeing you later in on the week when we open:

10am – 12pm on a Thursday

10am – 4pm on a Friday
