On this lovely summer’s day we had 35 customers in the cafe. Here’s what they ate in or took away for later:
- 13 portions of cabbage and bacon soup
- 31 portions of chicken enchiladas
- 9 portions of mixed bean salad
- 19 portions of fruit crumble
- 5 portions of millionaire’s shortbread
The kitchen volunteers did an amazing job producing lots of very tasty food. Paul worked hard clearing the pathway at the back and other people spent a long time cleaning and washing up. Thank you very much to you all!
Adam Smith, the co-founder of The Real Junk Food Project, paid us a brief visit. He collected a large quantity of food that we were donated this morning and redistributed it across the network (to the other TRJFP cafes who needed it). It is wonderful to be a part of such a big project, so that we can hand on extra food, rather than through it away.
We received £40.25 in monetary donations today and some people helped out by writing up the menu and clearing tables.
Thank you so much to everyone who supported us today!
We are open again on Tuesday from 10am till 4pm.
Don’t forget that Jen will be back with us from 2pm, running a ‘knit and natter’ group. Come and join in if you can!
