Horsforth ‘pop up’ cafe – 4th July

As part of the Horsforth ‘Walk of Art’, we headed to Cragg Hill Baptist Church to run a ‘pop up’ cafe today.

It was a fantastic event. We had 90 people visiting the cafe throughout the day. Some had a coffee and a cake, others enjoyed an ice lolly/ ice cream, whilst others came for a meal. There were lots of compliments about the food and various customers took ‘take outs’ for their tea.

Here’s what people ate or took home for later:

  • 14 portions of pea and mint soup
  • 19 minted lamb burgers
  • 15 hot dogs
  • 23 portions of mixed bean stew
  • 17 portions of chicken casserole
  • 12 portions of mince pie ice cream
  • 6 ice lollies
  • 20 ice pops
  • 24 portions of banana cake
  • 24 portions of Bakewell tar
  • 24 portions of chocolate cake
  • 6 portions of rocky road

We received £290.61 in donations and one person expressed an interest in helping at the All Hallows’ cafe.

The cafe volunteers did a marvellous job. Thank you so much! We couldn’t have done it without you.

A huge thank you also to the people of Horsforth! Your were incredibly supportive of The Real Junk Food Project today.

Don’t forget the ‘waste food bake off’ tomorrow, in the same location 2pm till 4pm! There will refreshments and plenty of cake to share. We hope to see you then.
