Tuesday in cafe…

Outside today we had 4 seasons – torrential rain, bright sunshine, hail and drizzle! However, 27 people still braved the weather and came down to the cafe. Here’s what they enjoyed eating or took home to eat later on:

  • 16 portions of swede, apple and ginger soup
  • 15 portions of vegetarian cottage pie
  • 11 portions of cabbage with crispy cheese crumb
  • 18 portions of rhubarb, cinnamon and custard tart
  • 4 portions of raspberry marshmallow crispy square

We received £30.09 in monetary donations and a wonderful donation of elderberry vinegar! We were also given a new tall freezer which will help us to better organise our frozen food. Several customers helped out in the kitchen, running errands and looking after the cafe space. It is always wonderful when people get involved and become a part of the volunteering team.

Tamsin popped into the cafe and updated her timebank board. Do get in touch via her Facebook page if you would like to get involved.

Thank you very much to everyone who supported us today!

We love turning waste food into delicious meals – feeding bellies, not bins. If you have ‘waste’ food/ out of date tins/ food you can’t use up before it goes off…bring it down to the cafe and we will put it to good use.
