What we did on Saturday in the cafe

On Saturday we celebrated the arrival of the new priest and his wife at All Hallows’ church – Heston and Lydia.

We reckon that about 170 people came to the function. TRJFP @ All Hallows’ cafe did the catering. The buffet menu was along these lines…

Pulled pork sandwiches with Apple sauce and stuffing
Hot dogs
Fish cakes
Potato wedges
BBQ beans
Roasted vegetable quiche
Cous cous
Savoury rice
Tomato and mozerella salad
Green salad
A large selection of cakes (including rocky road, banana cake, clementine cake and fruit cake)
Ferraro Rocher chocolates
Elizabeth Shaw mints
A selection of cheeses with biscuits and chutney

We received £164.56 in monetary donations and lots of people came into the kitchen to clear up afterwards!

The left over cake was enjoyed after the service at All Hallows’ on Mothering Sunday. Then the rest was shared with teachers at Rose Bank Primary School, where, as you can imagine, it was very much appreciated!

Thank you to everyone who ate our spread of food! For many it was their first experience of TRJFP and Pay As You Feel. We hope it will make people think a little differently about ‘waste’ food in the future.
