Red Nose Day at the cafe

Well I must confess that I didn’t wear my red nose for long today…about 5 minutes to be precise. However, the good intention was there! None of our 50 customers brought in noses either. But, one of them wore a red cardigan 🙂
We’ll try again next year.

It was lovely to have a number of families joining us today. Jen Sharp also came down. She is hoping to do a ‘knit as you feel’ course at All Hallows’ cafe. You may have heard about the one that she recently organised at the Armley TRJFP cafe. It was very successful! Watch this space for more information in the coming weeks.

We had plenty of food today and these are the delights that people enjoyed in the cafe or took home for later:
33 portions of cheese, broccoli and cauliflower soup
27 portions of kedgeree
30 portions of vegetable enchiladas
19 portions of clementine cake with chocolate sauce
15 portions of plum clafoutis

We were given some food donations including cake, tins, milk, bread and cheese. A number of people helped out in the cafe and we received £111.15 and 1 euro cent in monetary donations.

Thank you very much to everyone who supported us today! We couldn’t run the cafe without you…and our wonderful volunteers of course.

We are back in All Hallows’ tomorrow catering for the induction of the new vicar. It will be a super occasion. Do pop down if you get the chance. The service starts at 2.30pm.
