Tuesday in the cafe

We were fortunate to have some meat on the menu today, plus some other hearty winter dishes on this cold day. There was a steady stream of customers through the doors, totalling 30. Here is the food that they ate in or took away to enjoy later:

  • 20 portions of spicy parsnip soup
  • 13 portions of cabbage and bean stew
  • 10 portions of pork rib and vegetable cous cous
  • 1 portion of chicken and vegetable cous cous
  • 1 portion of liver and onion with vegetable cous cous
  • 3 portions of meatballs with vegetable cous cous
  • 6 portions of vegetable cous cous
  • 18 portions of plum cobbler and custard
  • 8 portions of mince pie ice cream
  • 2 portions of banana and chocolate sorbet

Various donations of food were brought in during the day including onions, fruit jellies, coffee, peanut butter, sardines and milk. We received £51.59 and 20 euro cents in monetary donations and a couple of people have offered to volunteer on Friday. Thank you very much to everyone who contributed today, as a customer, volunteer, donor, through recommending us…or in any other way. We really appreciate your support!

The post of assistant manager is still waiting to be filled. If you know anyone who might be interested, please ask them to email Emma: emma@cafe.allhallowsleeds.org.uk

Thank you!
